My mother always drove to our family reunions in New Orleans. I loved our family trips. This bi-annual 12-hour drive, plus all the stops along the way; always involved karaoke, great conversation, and plenty of snacks. It always seemed like the destination was too far away. I couldn't get comfortable as I tried to read or work and would get motion sickness. These times I was so close to the people I loved, I just wanted a break. I just wanted to get to the destination. I became impatient and anxious for arrival. When we finally got there, it was so refreshing; because of the journey, we endured to get there.
This book is a testament to knowing that nothing is ever too far, no matter how it seems, your destination is always attainable. You may take detours on the way, it may appear to be taking extremely long, but keep moving forward. Keep dreaming, striving, and working towards your goals. Never Too Far is about obtaining what seemed to be impossible. As you read my story, you will journey with me as I hit some potholes, go extremely fast over speed bumps, head in the wrong direction, almost have a car accident, and make some U-turns; all things that ultimately extend my estimated time of arrival, but I will get there and so will you.
